Once the coat has been brushed, the groomer will then resection the fur, going back over all sections with a comb and making sure that all mats and loose fur have been eliminated from the coat.

Frequently Asked Questions:

My dog is shedding like crazy! I’d like to shave him completely for the summer. Can you do that?

Shaving a double-coated dog is not recommended for several reasons:

It changes the texture of the coat as it grows back.

Shaving the undercoat will promote a thicker coat, which will cause more shedding ultimately.

And remember, a dog’s coat provides insulation from the heat and the sun!

Then what can I do to stop my pet from shedding so much?

Double coated breeds should be combed, brushed and professionally groomed regularly to maintain coat and reduce shedding.

My cat’s fur is matted and I’m thinking of shaving her. Is that a good idea?

We do not recommend that cats be shaved unless there is a medical condition. Cat’s skin is very thin which makes it easy to cut or tear.

Cats also have double coats and clipping would change the texture and promote thicker fur.

We may be able to de-mat without fully shaving your cat. We can also trim around private areas and stomach to help you to maintain the fur.

Can I speak to the groomer first?

Geena is available for any questions you may have. If you’re a first time client, she meets and greets your pet personally, so you know exactly what to expect.
